|
|
Hi,
This method has limited uses, but worked well for me. I wanted to bookmatch some Snakewood, and the minimal kerf of the JMP would be ideal. I had a small log section of wood and so I trued it up on my table saw and belt sander and gave it a relief cut. I then drilled and tapped threaded holes into the side.
The next step was mounting it to a piece of plywood that I could clamp to my 90 degree fixture.
I used a brass set up block to set a stop.
I then made my cut using the rip blade, minimal pitch and less then an eight of a turn at a time to raise the blade. The Snakewood is a very dense and difficult wood to cut.
My finished bookmatch with some Ebony and Holly details.
