AS-14 Adjustable Square
The AS-14
is a fantastic size square and allows full access of the 12" blade
on the inside rule and reads to 14" on the outside rule. This size
square will allow layout and measurement on lumber up to 12" in width. Most
important, the accuracy is plus or minus .001" over the length of the
blade, making this the most accurate square we have ever produced!
The satin chromed, etched and black filled blade is easy to read
and will allow you to accurately layout or read to one thirty-second of
an inch. The inside rule is precisely aligned with the inside brass
face of the handle, making this one of the most useful measuring
devices in your shop. In essence, this is a 12" hook rule. The layout
considerations of this feature are limitless.
The outside rule is also
accurately registered with the back of the handle. Set your square on
any flat surface and you now have a rule that reads vertical distances
with accuracy that is hard to beat. This is now a 14" height gage. Or,
use this to check inside dimensions of assembled cabinets, or... again
the applications are endless.
One problem with a large square for layout is the handle must be held in one hand or it drops under its own weight. The AS-14 Adjustable Try Square has a built in slide-stop.
Simply slide the lever out and your new square stays perfectly aligned
on your material, freeing up both of your hands for other tasks! It
even locks in place by tightening the brass knob. This added feature
makes the tool an extraordinary asset to your tool collection.
The handle is an "I" beam, one of the strongest engineering
configurations devised, accuracy is assured. All of this combined with
flawlessly executed Juaraâ„¢ wood cheeks makes this tool ready for today
and tomorrow, plus a hundred or so years.

Tool Maintenance
1. Apply a good quality meta polish to all metal surfaces (we recommend a paste polish, as liquid polishes ten to clog the screw heads). Follow the polish instruction for use. 2. Apply a high quality paste wax to refurbish all wood and brass surfaces. Gently rub with '0000' steel wool . Follow the scratch pattern on the brass. Once the wax has set, buff by hand with a clean cotton cloth. 3. Apply a thin layer of Vaseline to protect the steel blade from the element. It also does a fine job of removing fingerprints.
