HP-6v2 Plane Body

As you can see from the photograph, we have changed the HP-6 body from solid brass to hard-anodized aluminum and the benefits are numerous. All future solid brass soles will be attached to the body with a quick change, locking dovetail joint — making changeovers twice as fast. However, the most significant benefit is the ability to employ the entire width of the sole for future profiles that are currently not possible because of the interference caused by the cap screws.

With this design change, no tools are needed to change soles. While working on the re-design we also created a new fence system that does not need a hex key wrench to affix in place. This new fence is backward compatible with all wooden cheeks.

Please remember, ALL of the existing HP-6 accessories, such as soles, irons, and fences, will fit on the new HP-6v2 body — however, all new profiles coming in the months ahead will only fit the new body style.

No plane iron or soles come with the body. Please peruse the profiles we have available and choose the size(s) that best fit your needs.
